I was so happy to be able to attend my niece, Emilee’s backyard wedding to Colin back in June. Although I was not hired to document their day, I was still able to grab some images during the ceremony.
Emilee’s parents live in the country in Northern California and they have a large backyard that seemed like it was made for this special day. The large oak trees provided shade, which was a blessing because Corning was going through a heat wave that day. It was so hot that the couple ended up pushing the ceremony start time back an hour to let the sun go down. The trees also made the golden hour pictures absolutely magical., which I was happy to be asked to be able to shoot with the lead shooter.
The DIY touches for this wedding were so nice. Emilee’s dad made the arch that the wedding was held under and he later moved that arch to Colin and Emilee’s house where they have a daily memory of their day. It’s the little details that this that I really appreciate.
After the ceremony, all the guests danced the night away and had such a wonderful time celebrating this lovely couple.
