How much will you photoshop me?

During your image selection, you’ll choose all the images you love the most, and we’ll discuss what, if any, changes you’d like to see. I will also provide helpful information during the initial design consultation before your shoot to prepare you to look and feel camera ready, and we tailor a plan with you to capture images of you at your utmost. These are your photos, and I want you to love them and what you see in them. If you really want that birthmark or blemish removed, I’ll happily oblige, but I generally advise against changing anything that makes you quintessentially, gloriously you. The lines and scars you’ve earned are a testament of your wisdom and strength and are as worthy of celebration as everything else that makes you so spectacular.

So, unless you’ve decided you want something avant-garde, involving compositing and drastic alterations or effects, our philosophy is to keep it simple. You’re incredible just the way you are. I like to take a ‘less is more’ approach to highlighting your unique beauty. I can make skillful, minor adjustments to the images you choose, creating portraiture you’ll love and cherish for years to come.

Here is a real life example of the type of photo shopping that might do. In the before, notice the floor. In the after shot, I removed the concrete floor and extended the wall so the image looks more uniform. Also, in the after example, the skin on the model has been smoothed a little to reduce any shine and to keep the skin even.

My goal is for you to have photos you love and are proud of. In our experience, when you’re comfortable, valued, engaged, and seen for who you are, it’s easy to create captivating images with minimal retouching. I use expert lighting and posing to ensure you look your best before applying any post-production techniques, so that your images will be reflections of your sincerest, most beautiful self. I see your worth, and we know that your experience with us will show it to you and to everyone else. We don’t change how you look, we change how you see yourself.
